Techonomy: 'Detroit was Silicon Valley 50 years ago,' says Steve Case
Techonomy Detroit kicked off this morning at Wayne State University with Detroit entrepreneur Josh Linkner in the opening segment.
Techonomy founder David Kirkpatrick started off the technology event talking with Linkner of Detroit Venture Partners and Steve Case, CEO of Revolution LLC.
"We have to scream from the mountaintops that Detroit is open for business," said Linkner, according to the live blog of the event. "This is a great place to build a tech company."
"In many ways, Detroit was Silicon Valley 50 years ago, " Case said.
The event, being live streamed for those who aren't attending, also features Twitter founder Jack Dorsey and Dan Gilbert, as well as numerous local and national technology and business leaders.
