Ann Arbor ad agency wins HealthPlus account

Ann Arbor-based re:group said today that it has been named advertising agency of record for Flint-based HealthPlus of Michigan, which has a regional office in Troy.

Terms of the deal were not announced. re:group replaces a Maryland agency.

The nonprofit health maintenance organization selected re:group after issuing an RFP and whittling down more than 30 advertising and marketing communication firms that responded.

The agency was selected to provide marketing and communications support for HealthPlus as it grows and develops new health plans, re:group said in a statement.

It has done work for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, University of Michigan Health System and Pfizer Inc.

HealthPlus and its subsidiaries provide health services to more than 200,000 members through both commercial and government insurance programs.

Founded in 1979, HealthPlus employs more than 400 people at its Flint headquarters and regional offices in Saginaw and Troy.
